K-popping with Titín – Episode 1

It was more than obvious that “Titín Round Korea” was going to have a k-pop day. First of all because it was due to k-pop that I started paying attention to Korea and second of all because…Taemin (?).

In this section we will talk about k-pop, but also about aaaaaaaall the things related to idols, and Hallyu in general.

For those of you who read me before my Korean trip, the following explanations are for you.

• What’s Hallyu?

It refers to the increased popularity of South Korean culture. Nowadays, the term is used worldwide but it was coined in China, during the 90s, due to the huge popularity of a k-drama (Korean TV drama) aired in that country.

• What’s k-pop?

It’s the abbreviation of Korean Pop, a musical genre from South Korea that includes pop, hip hop, dance music, and ballads. Nowadays, the term is mainly used to refer to all idols, very famous Korean young singers and dancers.

• Who is Taemin?

He is one of the members of Shinee, a k-pop band. It was the first k-pop band I ever listened to and still my favourite, because they are great singers, they are fucking adorable and their choreographies…OH GOD. And Taemin…I don’t even know how to explain my feelings…I just saw him and it was like…OK I LOVE YOU. He was really young by then but…BUT…I put all my money on him, I knew….I KNEW he would become the great performer that he is today. He got me with his dancing…it was love at first sight all along.

Ok…I have to stop talking because I have already talked about him and kpop like a thousand times…so *starts dancing Lucifer*…SEE YA IN THE NEXT EPISODE! ^^
