Incheon Airport to Seoul: Female Solo Travel in Korea

Are you travelling to South Korea for the first time as a solo woman? First of all, CONGRATS GIRRRRRRL. South Korea is one of my favourite countries! But, anyway, I know how overwhelming those first airport minutes can feel — especially in a new country!

Don’t you worry! There is good news: Seoul is one of the safest, best-connected cities in the world, and this guide will show you exactly how to get from Incheon Airport to Seoul without any stress whatsoever. Whether you’re starting your trip, meeting friends, or just ready for some K-drama-level adventures, this 2025 updated guide has your back!

First things first!!!

I know you want to get to your accommodation as soon as possible, but you need to obtain your T-Money card (or there is an alternative option if you are only visiting Seoul: the Climate Card. You can read about these two options here.)

If you plan to travel around South Korea, visiting different cities and heading to the countryside, you should get the T-Money card! I arrived in April this year, and I got the T-Money right before heading down to the railway station in one of the convenience stores at the airport.

Incheon to Seoul

Now that you have your card, let’s explore all the options available to you to get from Incheon Airport to Seoul, depending on your budget and time availability.

Option 1: Airport Railroad Express (AREX) – Fastest & Most Convenient (but more expensive than the all-stops option)

  • Time: 43 minutes (non-stop)
  • Cost: ₩9,500 (approx. USD $7)
  • First train: 05:20 AM | Last train: 10:50 PM
  • Departs from: B1 floor, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2

You’ll find comfy reserved seats, luggage storage, clean bathrooms, and even free Wi-Fi on board.

Pro tip: You can book tickets online in advance or purchase them at vending machines upon arrival. If you’re arriving late at night, check schedule updates on www.arex.or.kr.

Option 2: AREX All-Stop Train – Cheaper but Slower

  • Time: 60 minutes
  • Cost: ₩4,150 (approx. USD $3)
  • Operates from 05:15 AM to midnight

The All-Stop Train is a great option if you want to explore multiple stations along the same railway as the AREX Express. It’s perfect for travellers staying in lively neighbourhoods like Hongdae (near Hongik University Station), Digital Media City, or Gongdeok. Enjoy your ride!

Perfect for budget travellers — but less comfy if you have lots of luggage.

Option 3: Airport Limousine Bus – Great for Door-to-Door Comfort

  • Time: 60–90 minutes (depending on traffic)
  • Cost: ₩17,000–₩20,000 (USD $13–$15)
  • Frequency: Every 15–20 minutes
  • Available 24/7 (night routes available)

These comfortable buses run to most major districts and hotels in Seoul, including:

  • Myeongdong
  • Gangnam
  • Itaewon
  • Dongdaemun
  • Insadong

Pro tip: Head to the ticket counters inside the arrival halls (Terminal 1 or 2). Let them know your hotel or neighbourhood, and they’ll help you find the right route.

Option 4: Taxi or KakaoTaxi – Easiest but Most Expensive

  • Time: 45–70 minutes
  • Cost: ₩70,000–₩120,000 (USD $50–$90+)
  • Available: 24 hours

Taxis in Korea are safe, clean, and metered. You can take:

  • Regular taxi (gray/orange)
  • Deluxe taxi (black, more spacious and expensive)
  • International taxis (English-speaking drivers – book ahead online)

You can also use KakaoTaxi, the Korean version of Uber, which now supports the English interface. You’ll need a local SIM or Wi-Fi access.

Option 5: Private Transfers – Best for families or groups

If you want a hassle-free experience, book a private transfer online through websites like Klook, Trazy, or GetYourGuide. Drivers will greet you with a sign, assist with your luggage, and take you directly to your accommodation.

  • Time: 45–60 minutes
  • Cost: ~₩85,000 for 2–4 people

It’s more expensive than public transport, but extremely convenient if you’re arriving late or travelling with kids.

Late Night Arrival? Here’s What to Know

If you land after midnight, the AREX trains won’t be running — but the airport night buses and taxis are still available.
Check routes 6001N or 6005N for night buses to central districts.

For budget-conscious travelers, sleeping at the airport (Terminal 2 rest zone) or booking a capsule hotel inside the terminal are also options.
